Anna joking at Mel’s expense is justified. This is the second time that an AGT/Fantasy League judge wasn’t focusing during her act. First being Sofia Vegara forgetting the cards that Anna specifically told her “Don’t forget” and now Mel B. Come on judges, if you’re getting paid thousands to judge a TV talent show, pay attention when a contestant wants your involvement in their act.

Guys she was obviously joking around with those comments, Its a part of her act she does it everytime. I dont understand why everyone is hating on her for making jokes. Comedians poke fun at the judges all the time, whats so different about her doing it?

Man, that was brutal. Heidi was not feeling her at all 😩💀 I felt bad for Anna at the end tho because she looked like she was about to cry! 😭 I don't think she realized it would rub people the wrong way, even though Mel didn't catch on or didn't care.

it seems clear to me that the jokes were a comedic part of her act, and that mel b understood this. unfortunately comedy is subjective so it makes sense that some were offended.

While Anna's comments may have been a bit rude, she was clearly joking around with Mel, and even Mel realized that. Anna didn't mean any harm by it and probably didn't expect anyone to actually take offense to it

I’ve honestly never been crazy about her act because she doesn’t have the best showmanship and her attempting to add comedy just didn’t work. Idk why she kept trying to be funny when her jokes weren’t landing. Heidi calling her out was justified.

Anna was pretty clearly joking, but I think Heidi is justified in feeling uncomfortable and a little hurt on behalf of her friend. The way it was delivered was awkward and didn’t come across well, especially when Mel was clearly struggling with understanding the act. I’m glad she wasn’t hurt by it though.

I think I can relate to Anna. She is the shy person trying to be social and everything backfires when you try to leave your comfort zone and attempt to be cool. I’ve heard other people make similar jokes with a different delivery and it didn’t shock anyone. I think her shyness makes her voice sound more serious than she really is.

Simon makes rude comments about Mel all the time, but people laugh. I thought Ana was just being savage with her jokes. But sadly it affected her performance because people became distracted with her big reveal and it wasn't as thrilling.

Mel B literally said after Pack Drum Line "i see everything", bringing up missed rhythm and a dropped stick or two. After not paying any attention to Anna's tricks or what she said about her. I understand Anna was joking but what she said sadly had a lot of merit.

She is good, but tonight is not her best.

As someone who struggles greatly with social situations (especially in bigger groups) I feel for her. She wasn't rude, that wasn't her intent. She was just trying to add some charisma to her act. And sadly it didn't register with people. The judges honestly need to do better in focusing up with these shows because honestly the majority of them were not there that night. You could see it long before the attempted jokes started coming.

If she was joking, she Went To Far. Even Howie tried to warn her to stop, no she kept going and going with the INSULTS. If she is not good enough to be a magician, don’t make up for it by INSULTING the judge. Does that make any sense. Hell No!!

Mel didn’t thought she was rude and thought of it as a joke, people needs to stop judging on what’s rude or not, it’s the person who is spoked to, who is the judges of that.

mel and simon talk to each other like that all the time, they're very close, that's THEIR relationship. that doesn't give her or anyone else the right to talk down to someone they don't know as well as they know each other. heidi was right, and the audience agreed. it wasn't her place to joke like that.

This is an interesting one. The show has a history of contestants jokingly insulting the judges and she’s not the first magician to throw a jab or two at them either. She said the same “You’re so pretty…” comment to Sofia last season and she laughed. On the flip side, the judges are still people and are allowed to dislike jabs toward them. I understand why Heidi felt the way she felt and she doesn’t have to laugh. It’s just hard to gauge when a joke will be taken in fun or in hurt

Dissing the judges is normal on this show and I don't think Heidi should've been offended. Mel B took it in stride and Simon understood Anna was only kidding.

Whether we admit it or not, we all have experienced something like this in our lives. Don't let the public arena get to you. Watching all your videos, it's apparent you have a good heart, humble too. Ok. So here's what happened. Anna was frustrated and felt Mel was messing / ruining her show and her moment. That's why she said those things and also in a same time she could have felt bad because saying those things. So Anna meant those things and the same time she didn't but in overall I think 70/30 she meant those things and even more because Anna continued "pushing" those words like saying "I should have picked Heidi". And yes Mel played it down and "saved" her like saying it's cool even I think in personally she didn't like that.

It seems like the wrong thing slipped out, and it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. But at this stage, you are so expected to exude excellence and professionalism. Little things like that could be a serious downward turn. She’ll always be a magician, and will do good magic, but bigger venues might not want to take a chance on her.

Why did she choose to ignore the J at the start of the bill’s serial number? Was it intentional or did she mess up the act like she did in the finale in the fall? Also, her comments about Mel were in poor taste and the audience definitely agreed.

Oh man... that was an all time bomb! Complete disaster. She deserved her spot in the top 2 this summer but I have to agree with the audience tonight. Not worthy of a spot in the finals after this performance. Last weeks performance was much better

This comment section has me very confused 😂. Sure it's not professional to tell jokes like that but I think it was very clearly in jest to poke fun at the situation. There's no need to be offended FOR Mel B, if it genuinely upset her she would have said something after the fact even if she didn’t hear it right away.

Mel didn’t get it! When Mel gave the wrong answer, and then the magician said, “well, you’re pretty”… Any woman knows what that means. That you’re not very smart, but you’re pretty - yes that was very insulting.!

The audience in the AGT venue is just a negligible number compared to the number of netizens worldwide who genuinely appreciate your magic trick and effort to really entertain people. You're like Jo Koy but in the magician world, Anna. We Filipinos around the globe fully support your talent. Laban lang! Actually I think true talent stand the test of time and making great impact to people lives by way of entertainment. That's what you're exactly doing Anna. BUT you know, AGT is America and it's famous because it's America, you know, they do things the way they always love to do, Manipulation!

I think too much work needed from her assistants. Just make it straightforward and do your magic. Reduce the chatter and you reduce the chances of saying something wrong. You're not a comedian but a magician. so focus on the magic.

Her magic performance was absolutely fantastic. She could have poked fun at herself. You know everyone is sensitive to what people are saying. She's young. She's learning. I can't wait to see her in the Magic Circuit, and I hope she will learn from the great magicians performing in front of a large audience and learn how to handle the crowd more often.

Personally, I’m done with card tricks for a while. It’s not a fresh act anymore. Sorry.

At least MelB ignored all the jokes and was focusing on the trick instead of letting it get to her like Heidi. I think she still did a good job even though the end wasn’t a surprise like her other ones.

I was very confused watching this, she is very likable but I don’t think this was good enough to win AGT.. The good thing was that she wasn’t nervous this time, I really think she should have gone bigger because she has a great stage production team behind her, she should have done something way different..

Genuinely was so surprised and angry when Heidi actually pulled the “You hurt my friend” like Anna was publicly shaming and insulting her. It was clearly a joke; AGT is about having fun, not about shaming or insulting people. Heidi even describwd AGT as a “open and hate-free zone”. If someone telling her *friend* she can't read, she's gonna have a hell of a time on the internet, regardless if she's on Twitter (X 🙄) or not.Being offended by a joke/insult is the person, and specifically the person, on the recieving end's job. Mel B is a full-fledged, responsible, grown up, and mature woman. I trust that if Mel B truly was offended she would speak up about it. Heidi does not have to be the controlling and choose what Mel B is offended by or not. Heidi isn't Mel B's big sister, and she certainly isn't her mom either. I find it was very rude and hasty to assume that Anna's, very obvious, joke offended Mel B. I don't know about Heidi or anyone else and I won't speak for anyone, I don't know about anyone else bht for me a magician's performance becomes very very dull and uninteresting when there isn't comedy. Maybe an exception if you have like the absolute BEST performance, Shin Lim's performance tenfold, but otherwise I'm not voting for you, sorry but also not sorry.

ouch! If you don't click with your assistance, and the joke you put around it reflects your audience not a win-worthy, and makes your performance a cringe. I mean I love Anna's quirkiness and magic, it didn't resonate with the audience and especially with the judges.

Anna was obviously joking. Mel’s assistance was funny, and she didn’t find what she said to be rude. What’s the difference with Anna playfully teasing to be funny during her act, and some of the comedians they’ve had that have roasted the judges for fun and laughs. If that humor wasn’t Heidi’s cup of tea then okay, but Anna wasn’t being rude.

Many of the performers joke with the judges when they are interacting. It's part of the show. I don't recall a judge ever mentioning being annoyed at a joke 'on them', with the possible exception of a contestant who is actually rude due to being buzzed off, and even that may be part of the show. As for the inattention of Mel B, it's not that she was thinking of something unrelated( like what she'll have for dinner), but still thinking of what she just saw Anna do. The producers add things to the show. For example the part where they are in the Snapple Lounge having fun, is not a 'party'. The contestants are placed in the room moments before the Emcee enters. This gives them a few moments to act like they are having a good time, Terry enters, then, after Terry has spent a minute or so, he exits, and the 'party' is over.

I like Anna I wanted her to win the regular season but I think don't think she should have tripled down on the joke especially the one when she said at least we know you can read was what really hurt her. Anna's overall magic was amazing hopefully she can have an amazing career after this.

I THINK that mel said 20 ON PURPOSE as mel had also ACTED like she didnt know how many cards were there (OBVIOUSLY she was acting to make it light hearted comedy cuz most definitely she knew there were 5 cards and she went into that comedy mode cuz that question was obviously a little too silly, yes it was a silly question), i DONT think mel actually didnt know that it was a 1 and a 100 and not a 20, she was just playing silly cuz thats what the questions being asked to her were... Anna definitely didnt have to say those things to mel B Protecting a kid today for being rude will only nurture a disrespectful person in future, and anna should definitely be reminded that what she said was not valid and she should first imagine how she would feel if someone said that to her, and have empathy and not just throw rude things at others as 'jokes', i respect mel B for playing it down and not hitting her back, i mean mel is so nice she didnt wanna hurt her back, when she herself looked so hurt, you could tell by her face she didnt like that. Also, respecting your elders will never hurt you but disrespecting them may.
